PURPOSE:To provide the subject method of computing the rainfall flow-in amount on the basis of the rainfall amount data per unit hour at every exhaustion division and the basic flow variation pattern at the disposing installation, whereby the estimation of variation in the flow-in amount on a rainy day is carried out with high precision. CONSTITUTION:In a disposing site or a relay pump site, the structures of rainfall flow-out models 20, 21 and 22, and various coefficients thereof are determined on the basis of the rainfall amounts 23, 24 and 25 and the flow-out amounts 26, 27 and 28 per unit hour at every exhaustion division, which are obtained from the past data, and the calculation program is memorized to a memory device 4. A pattern corresponding to a day desired to estimate is selected from the basic patterns 29 through 31, and by use of the rainfall amount data and calculation program, the amount of rainfall flowing in the installation per unit hour at a central computation device 1 is obtained. The relationship between the obtained estimated value and measured value is indicated in CRT 5, and when the difference between both values is large, correction and renewal of respective coefficients of models 20, 21 and 22 are carried out. According to this method, the difference in the rainfall distributions depending upon the difference in regions is sufficiently compensated, and the estimation of the rainfall flow-in amount can be carried out by a small number of data.
