MEDIUM-CARBON STEEL WIRE ROD WITH SUPERIOR DRAWABILITY AND ROLLABILITY TO FLAT WIRE

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain a medium-carbon steel wire rod having superior drawability and rollability to a flat wire and requiring no lead patenting by preparing steel contg. a specified percentage of C, Si, Mn, sol. Al and B. CONSTITUTION:Steel is prepared consisting of, by wt., 0.20-0.40% C, 0.01- 0.30% Si, 0.40-1.20% Mn, =0.005% sol. Al, 11/14(T.N.-40ppm)-T.NX11/14 B and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities. The steel is drawn and rolled to a flat wire. Thus, strain aging is prevented, embrittlement due to working is inhibited, and a medium-carbon steel wire rod of stable quality is obtd.
