PURPOSE:To detect agglutination patterns of plural pieces of reaction vessels simultaneously by imaging the agglutination patterns of the bottom surfaces of the plural reaction vessels on plural photodetectors by means of a common optical system and performing processing. CONSTITUTION:A long sized illuminating lamp 100 is disposed on a microplate 25 in order to detect the patterns of 8 pieces of reaction vessels 25-1-1-25-1-8 simultaneously. One piece of projecting lens 103 is disposed below the microplate 25, and the patterns of the bottom surfaces of 8 pieces of the reaction vessels are projected onto photodetectors 104-1-104-8. The photodetectors 104 are provided with concentrical circular photodetecting areas 104A and 104B, so that whether the accumulation patterns of blood cell particles are uniform accumulation patterns or not can be decided. Since images are projected on the respectively separate photodetectors with one optical system in this way, the signals of high S/N are obtained in spite of the case when the spacings between the reaction vessels are narrow, and the decision of high accuracy is accomplished.
