METHOD FOR PREVENTING WELD CRACKING OF DISSIMILAR METALS

PURPOSE:To prevent weld cracking in welding of a nickel alloy and a copper alloy by using a specific intermediate material. CONSTITUTION:In the case of welding nickel or a nickel alloy and copper or a copper alloy, an intermediate material consisting of a nickel alloy contg. =1 kind of 10-70wt% copper, =3wt% manganese and =2wt% titanium is build-up welded on the nickel or the nickel alloy. Nickel metal contg. copper and consisting essentially of nickel is build-up welded, thence the copper alloy is welded. Thereby, the welded joint free from weld cracking is obtained.
