PURPOSE:To effectively prevent the adherence of oceanic life and hence reduce the installation cost of pollution resistant film layer by forming a thin surface layer of pollution resistant material only over local parts across the draft line of an ocean sailing vessel. CONSTITUTION:Out of the parts of the carbon steel hull 1 of an ocean sailing vessel, constantly making contact with the sea water, the part to which oceanic life easily adheres, i.e., the local part ranging from the level about one meter above the draft line 2 down to the level three meters below the draft line 2, is injected and covered with about one millimeter thick 9/1 copper nickel layer 3 for oceanic life prevention through an electric insulation layer such as glass flake paint. The characteristic capacity of the 9/1 copper nickel layer 3 across the draft line 2 effectively prevents the adherence of oceanic life. The electric insulation layer also prevents the formation of local battery between the steel plate and the 9/1 copper nickel in the sea water, thereby preventing the corrosion of steel plate.
