BURIED COLLAR WATER-STOPPING OIL FOR PREVENTION OF FREEZING DAMAGE

PURPOSE:A water-stopping oil preventing an inverse T bolt from corroding by being packed in a buried collar and preventing crack formation due to the permeation of rain water, which is prepard by compounding a water repellent material with a foamed flastic bead having adjusted specific gravity similar to the water repellent material by the application of a powder on the surface. CONSTITUTION:A bead made of a foamed plastic, such as polystyrene, polypropylene or polyethylene, with specific gravity adjusted to be similar to that of a water repellent material such as grease or silicone oil, by applying a powder such as iron sand or silica sand to the surface thereof, is compounded with the water repellent material. If rain water permeates into and freezes in the resulting water-stopping oil, swelling force caused by freezing is moderated by the deformation of the foamed bead mixed and kneaded with the water-stopping oil. Thus when it is packed in a buried collar of a rail slab in a cold district, surrounding concrete is prevented from cracking. The foamed bead contained loweres heat conductivity, so that heat sensitivity may be improved.
