WAVE EXPERIMENTAL METHOD FOR SHALLOW SEA

PURPOSE:To reproduce the phase deviation of reflected waves on the face of slopes by moving an upright wall installed on a model by the distance corresponding to the phase deviation of the reflected waves on the faces of slopes of the on-site seashore and revetments. CONSTITUTION:As an on-site revetment, a revetment 3 wherein precast concrete armour units 2 are piled on the face 1 of slope of an angle alpha of inclination and horizontal length lS is built. As the revetment of a model, the waveheight reflectivity corresponding to the angle alpha of inclination of the face of slope is reproduced by means of coated wire screens 5 or others such as sponge, slates, or the like on the surface of a simulated revetment upright wall 4, whilist with respect to the phase deviation of reflected waves, the installation position A of the wall 4 on the model is moved by the distance lambda corresponding to the extent of said phase deviation. The hydraulic model experiment for waves is carried out by the model constituted in this way.
