PURPOSE:To wash off an adhered solid component by a method wherein a liquid to be treated is filtered by a hollow filter material and, thereafter, compressed air is passed through an inside of the filter material immersed in said liquid to be treated to wash said filter material without using a washing liquid. CONSTITUTION:A liquid to be treated is sent into a container 1 under pressure to filter a solid component therein by a filter material 7A and a filtrate is flowed into the filter material 7A and sent to a gap 12 between a rotary shaft 7 and an outer cylinder 11 from an outer pore 8B through an inside of said shaft 7 from an inner pore 8A. Then, after a filtering process is completed, the liquid to be treated is left as it stands to immerse the filter material 7A in the liquid to be treated. Subsequently, under this condition, compressed air is sent from a pipe 13B to be flowed into the pipe 7 through the outer pore 8B from the gap 12 and, further, passed into the filter material 7A from the inner pore 8A. During this time, the compressed air is sent as well as the shaft 7 is rotated and said compressed air discharged out under pressure toward an outside from an inside of the filter material 7A and, thereby, clogging of the filter material 7A is eliminated and, at the same time, the adhered solid component adhered to the filter material 7A is peeled.
