SIMULTANOUS WORKING METHOD OF O-RING HOLDING GROOVE IN PIPE EXPANDING WORK

PURPOSE:To form expanding of pipe end part and a O-ring holding groove of the pipe expanding part simultaneously by inserting the pipe end part into an opening between a disk-like ring-shaped metallic outer mold fixed on a base and a discoidal inner mold made of hard rubber and compressing the inner mold from upper face. CONSTITUTION:Pipe expanding part outer circumference shape 1' is formed on the inner circumference 1''' of a circular through hole 1''' at the center of a discoidal ring-shaped metallic outer mold corresponding to the outer circumference of a discoidal inner mold made of hard rubber, and outer shape of a O-ring holding groove 1'' is formed on the shape 1'. The inner mold 2 and outer mold 1 are placed on the upper surface of a base 4 and fixed, and the pipe end part of a pipe 5 to be expanded is inserted into the opening between molds 1, 2, and the inner mold 2 is compressed by a press 3. The inner mold 2 swells out in radial direction by compression and presses the inner circumference face of the pipe 5. Thus, the pipe expanding shape 1' and the O-ring holding groove shape 1'' are formed at the end of the pipe 5 by one process.
