PURPOSE:To prevent the fluctuation in the center distance betwen the fixed and rotary sides of a speed changing device for a rotary engine including a polygonal rotor, by providing an eccentric rotary member which serves also as a gas seal, between the fixed and rotary sides of the speed hanging device. CONSTITUTION:The securing parts 1, 2 of a speed changing device hold joint support part 3 and are fitted in the holes 11, 13 of a side plate 11. The support portion 3 is fitted in the recess 14 of the side plate 11. A crankshaft extends through the openings 4, 15 of the supporting part 3 and the side plate 11. An eccentric rotary member 38 having an opening 39 is provided inside the piston head 29 of a rotor and gastightly mounted with a seal 71 located near the inside of the front 68 of the rotor. The rotary part of the speed changing device, a part of which is a sliding contact section 41, is movably fitted around the rotary member 38 and coupled to the fixed part of the speed changing device through the rotary member.
