The holiday apartment complex comprises relatively small studio size units (1-6) erected around a centre piece. Each studio communicates with the centre piece via a passage way (7) which may be blocked off by a partition (14), putting the centre piece under the control and at the discretion of the occupants of individual studios. Each partition may present a decorative face to the centre piece, may comprise a furniture piece such as a cupboard, or may constitute a door which can slide along a centre piece wall.
