1531792 Pipe joints UNITED GAS INDUSTRIES Ltd 7 May 1976 [7 May 1975] 18737/76 Heading F2G A compensation for connecting between pipe ends, comprises two coaxial pipe sockets 1, 2 interconnected by a bellows 3, the socket 1 having thereon a ring 7 carrying a guide bushing 6 surrounding the bellows 3 and slidably mounted with respect to a bearing ring 8 on the pipe socket 2, the bushing 6 having an end-plate 9 and being connected to the bearing ring 8 by screws 12 which screw into the ring 8 and pass through clearance apertures 13 in the end plate 9, the screws allowing adjustment of the length of the compensator before installation. After installation the screws 12 are removed. Movement of the bushing 6 is guided by slots 10 therein engaging pins 11 on the ring 8. The interior of the bellows 3 is protected by a telescopic tube in two parts 4, 5.
