Pocket-shaped surface filter element for industrial dust extraction systems

1476098 Dust filter CARL FREUDENBERG 28 Feb 1975 [8 Oct 1974] 8527/75 Heading BIT A pocket type dust filter comprises a frame 1 in which porous filter sheets 2 are mounted and a gas permeable member 3 supporting the sheets 2 the member 3 being resiliently reversibly deformable so that on partial blocking of the sheets supporting member is compressed and on switching off air flow the blocking dust is shaken off by reassertion of the resilient member 3 to its original position. Clean gas flows out of open end shown. The supporting member 3 may have support from a further member such as 4 or a spring 6 (Fig. 2 not shown). A distance holder 5 (Fig. 2 not shown) may limit the distension of sheets 2. Parts 3 and 4 may be fabricated from one sheet or be in two pieces joined together (Figs. 3 and 4 not shown). The filter sheets and frame may be of expanded plastics material e.g. polyurethane. The support may be of rubber, plastics or metal.
