Hearth for burning solid fuel being stoked automatically. The introduction tube 1 is provided with a water jacket 2 for cooling of the fuel plug in order to reduce the rate of back-burning. The walls 4 of the hearth are insulated from the protection jacket 6 by means of insulating plates 5. Hereby, the temperature differences on the inner and outer surfaces of the walls 4 become smaller, and the possibility for formation of cracks smaller. The walls 4 of the combustion chamber are shaped as a circular shell around the combustion chamber 3, as seen in the direction of the transport of the fuel. This design prevents a collapsing of the walls if they develop cracks. IMAGE
