A PROCESS FOR DETOXIFICATION OF FORMALDEHYDE IN A FORMALDEHYDE-BEARING EFFLUENT BY CONVERTING IT TO NONTOXIC FORMOSE

摘要

A process for detoxification of formaldehyde in a formal-dehyde bearing effluent by converting it to non-toxic formose comprising in sequence the steps of adding to the said affluent time so that PH of the effluent rises above 9, raising the temperature of the effluent to 70 to 100 degree C and maintaining the effluent at the same temperature for 15 minutes to 1 hour.
