A process for disperse colour printing on polyester or polyester cellulosic blended fabrics comprising the steps of preparing printing paste containing one or more disperse dyes, ''chickling pea flour'' (Lathyrus santivus) being a novel thickening agents, along with one or more conventional thickening agents, water and optionally one or more organic acids or acid liberating agents such as herein described in presence of mild oxidizing agent as sodium meta nitro benzene sulphonate and the said printing paste is printed on the said fabrics and fixed by means of hot air baking or high pressure steaming.
