A process for the preparation of carrier materials for delivery of chemicals for contraception purposes in females or was in males comprising grinding tamarind polyose powder to a particle size of at least 120 mesh, microencapsulating the same with a hydrophobic material like paraffin wax, admixing the microencapsules formed with granulated plantago ovata (Isapgol) seed husk powder of a particle size of at least 120 mesh, further adding if desired, non-microencapsulated tamarind polyose powder of a particle size of at least 120 mesh to the admixture and forming a colloidal suspension thereof with a hydrophilic anhydrous liquid to obtain the desired carrier material.
