METHOD FOR PREPARING A SELF-LUBRICATING ANTI-FRICTION MATERIAL

Self-lubricating antifriction material comprises (A) 5-95 wt.% of a fusible polyimide or polyquinoxaline and (B) either (i) 5-95 (pref. 10-80) wt.% of MoS2 modified by phosphorus acids or esters such that the MoS2 contains 0.01-2 (pref. 0.05-0.1) wt.% P of (ii) a mixt. of modified MoS2 as in (i9 which unmodified MoS2, the modified MoS2 content being 1-90 wt.% of the total compsn. The material has good mechanical strength, machinability and wear-resistance, and retains a stable coefft. of friction even at high temp.
