Apparatus for measuring fluid flow comprises a sensing tube (2) in parallel with the fluid flow path (7, 8), a valve (1) means for redirecting the fluid at intervals into the sensing tube (2) and two spaced apart sensors (3, 4). Timing and display means (5, 6) calculate the fluid flow rate between the sensors (3, 4) and open valve means (1) when the uppermost sensor (4) is reached by the fluid, the sensing tube (2) being then allowed to drain and fluid flow being resumed along the passage (7, 8), until the fluid level reaches the other sensor (3) when valve means (1) is again closed to repeat the cycle. Gas flow can be measured using a liquid which is moved between sensors (3, 4) by the gas. IMAGE
