Synthetic scawtite 6CaO.6SiO2.CaCO3.2H2Ois prepared by hydrothermal reaction of CaO and/or Ca(OH)2 with silicic acid and calcium carbonate in the presence of water. The molar ratio of the lime component, the silicic acid and the calcium carbonate can be from 6:6:0.2 to 6:6:1. The produce is suitable as a filler for colorant preparations.
