This invention relates to a roof- support system for underground roadways, railways, mine galleries, or tunnels, the system being of the kind comprising a plurality of support frames which are each formed from a plurality of connected sections. According to the invention the adjacent sections of each frame are telescopically interconnected at their ends (2), the outside wall surface of the end of each embraced section (1%) being substantially complementary in configuration to the inside wall surface of the end of the associated embracing section (1) and being frictionally engaged therewith, said end of each embraced section (1%) being of slightly larger outside diameter than the inside diameter of said end of the associated embracing section (1) before the sections are assembled together.
