The flat gas heating battery includes a combustion chamber defined by vertical walls and incorporates a burner head (9,10) to which is connected a combustion gas outlet pipe, and an air intake pipe. The air intake pipe encompasses the combustion gas outlet pipe, and the thus coaxial pipes are connected to the lowest part of the combustion chamber. A rise pipe (11) has walls which are separate of the battery, and the coaxial pipes are of such reduced dimensions that they can pass through a hole of between 40 and 60 mm dia.
