A heat exchanger element comprises two metal layers 10, 11 abutting each other and a pipe 15 of metal arranged therebetween for a heat-carrying medium. The pipe extends between two opposite outer edges of the element. The metal layers 10, 11 are cold welded to each other on both sides of the pipe 15, and the pipe 15 is cold welded to the metal layers. The pipe 15 is further provided with two protruding flanges 16, 17, which are arranged on each respective side of the pipe and extend in between the metal layers 10, 11, whereby also the protruding pipe flanges are cold welded to the metal layers. The heat exchanger element is manufactured by two abutting metal strips 10, 11 and a metal pipe blank 12, 13 situated therebetween are fed in between rollers for obtaining such a pressure that the metal strips are cold welded to each other and to the metal pipe blank. The metal pipe blank consists of two metal strips 12, 13 abutting each other, whereby a central section of one strip is prepared to prevent cold welding to the other strip, such that the strips may later be separated along this section for the formation of a pipe for the heat- carrying medium. The heat exchanger element is in particular intended for solar collector devices in order to enable improved heat transfer between the heat-collecting surfaces and the heat-carrying medium. IMAGE
