A tape strip assembly for a disposable diaper which has an absorbent pad 14 between a backing sheet 16 and a top sheet 18. The tape strip assembly includes a base tape 22 with a first adhesive 24 securing a portion of the said base tape 22 to the backing sheet 16. A releasable strip 28 is secured by second adhesive means 26 to the base tape with a third adhesive 30 being on the releaseable strip so that after initial attachment of the releasable strip to the backing sheet after first positioning on the user, the releasable strip can be peeled from the base tape to allow repositioning of the diaper.
