RADIAL AMMONIA CONVERTERSAbstract of the DisclosureA radial ammonia converter system including first andsecond heat interchangers and first, second and thirdcatalyst beds. The synthesis gas is heated in said firstand second interchangers by catalyst bed effluent priorto full flow through each of the catalyst beds. In oneembodiment, two of the catalyst beds are mounted withthe first and second interchangers in one vessel; and inanother embodiment, the first interchanger and second cat-alyst bed are mounted in one vessel and the second inter-changer and first catalyst bed are mounted in a separatevessel. In both embodiments, the radial ammonia convertersystem is completed by a third catalyst bed in a separatevessel.
