Abstract of the DisclosureA method is disclosed of photographically pro-cessing a negative-working imagewise exposed silver halidephotographic element to produce a reversal dye imagecomprising (a) developing the imagewise exposed silverhalide with an electron transfer agent to produce oxidizedelectron transfer agent which reacts with a competingoxidizable substance and (b) developing silver halideremaining with the electron transfer agent in the presenceof a dye image providing compound capable, after thecompeting oxidizable substance has been depleted, ofreacting with the oxidized electron transfer agent toproduce a reversal dye image. Image transfer film unitsare disclosed useful in the practice of this method. Suchfilm units include those containing in addition to thecompeting oxidizable substance and initially immobile dyeimage providing compound a layer containing additionalsilver halide and a scavenger separating the additionalsilver halide from the immobile dye image providingcompound.
