In this transit and transport system, transit apparatuses, such as level luffing slewing cranes 4, are taken to their place of use by means of a transport apparatus 6 and deposited there on support plates 5 or on rails 14 via running wheels. The transit material is loaded onto large pallets 3, 9, 16 and pallet-like support frames or transportable hoppers 11, and brought to the desired locations by underpinning the same using the transport apparatus 6 which has become free, without the aid of a further lifting appliance.
