Electronic energy controller with automatic warming-up for controlling the heating power of an electrical heating element (3) consisting of a digital integrated circuit (1) the duty cycle of which can be set manually by a potentiometer (R3) coupled to a mains switch (3) and which continuously has voltage applied to its d.c. supply via a mains part (D2, R4, C1). The mode is fed to the integrated circuit (1) from the main switch (2) via a resistor (R1). The integrated circuit (1) is provided with a synchronisation input, for synchronisation and clocking, to which the mains frequency can be fed via a resistor (R2). A thyristor (T1) can be connected through the integrated circuit (1) to the circuit of a signal lamp, as a function of the heating element (3) being switched on and/or at least one further heating element being switched on such that the signal lamp illuminates shortly after switch on and extinguishes a longer time after switch off.
