The hand prosthesis comprises a thumb and one or more curved gripping fingers working against it. An overload protection device opens each finger when a tension load exceeds a set value. Each finger comprises a rear portion (6a,7a), to which a front portion (6b,7b) is attached. - The front portion is held in position in relation to the rear one by a locking mechanism (14) forming the overload protection device. The mechanism can comprise a boss on one portion, spring-loaded into engagement with a recess in the other one. PS(3)
