The device compensates a device with linear current-voltage characteristics and with an ohmic resistance different from its impedance, as obtained with electronic switches made-up of thyristors. The device consists of two parallel branches of an a.c. circuit. The first branch comprises a negative-resistance device in series with the electronic switch, a first measuring resistor with a set value and a first current measuring device. The second branch comprises a second measuring resistor whose value is equal to the value of the first resistor, and a second current measuring device. The two current measuring devices excits a comparison and control circuit which adjusts the value of the negative-resistance device to compensate the electronic switch.
