Pulverised coal blowing method into burner - grades into different degrees of fineness for supply to different burners

The appts. blows pulverised coal directly into a furnace burner. The coal is delivered with hot gas or air to a mill, and the mixture which emerges from the mill is graded before entering the burner. The grading operation forms partial currents containing pulverised coal of different degrees of fineness, and these currents are fed to different burners. Seen in the flow direction of the combustion gases in the burner, the coarser-grade mixture can be blown into a burner before the finer-grade one. The degree of fineness of the pulverised coal in the partial currents can be regulated.
