The radar installation has a suppression circuit comprising a delay stage and a subtraction stage, together forming a moving target indicator filter. The filter centre frequency is reduced by a given factor relative to the transmission pulse sequence, by forming the delay stage as a digital or analogue random access, intermediate store with a delay time which is a whole multiple of the period duration of the radar transmitter. The delay time of the intermediate store, and hence the centre frequency of the filter, is pref. variable. The centre frequency of the filter can be held constant independent of a variation in the pulse sequence frequency. The radar does not require a pulse compression circuit, thus allowing its size to be reduced.
