Hand guard for circular blade - has guard plate with smooth edge, locked in groove in guard ring

The hand guard is for cutting machines, esp. sausage cutters. It consists of a C-shaped blade guard ring, partly surrounding the blade, and a removably connected blade guard plate. The guard plate (9) has a circular arch-shaped disc-like circumferential edge (9b). The edge is inserted into a ring groove in the inner circumference of the blade guard ring (7), directly next to the cutting edge (5a) of the blade (5). The guard plate is retained by a pin, in the lower section of the groove, and by a rapid-action lock (11), containing a locking cam (13), which engages over the plate.
