The box type furniture unit has a door and an impact ledge attached by connecting elements to a section of the furniture, especially to another door. The connecting elements (1) when built in are set at an acute angle (alpha) or (beta) both against the interior surface (2a) of the section of furniture (2) as well as against its front surface (2b). The acute angles may lie in the region between 30 and 60 degrees and the impact ledge (3) is made in a 'T' shaped base profile and includes an elastic sealing lip (3c) as a stop for the door (4).
