Forged link connector to steel chains - has chain link dies with oblique counter-bearing surfaces, with die beds set at distance permitting final tensioning
Forged link connector to steel chains - has chain link dies with oblique counter-bearing surfaces, with die beds set at distance permitting final tensioning
Attachments for round steel chains to couple flights, crossbars, or buckets to them consist of two parts with a stepped parting line in the plane of a chain link, each surface carrying two round grooves for the sides of a chain link. Each part has an L-shaped cross-section, with the two mating surfaces at an inclination and with the surfaces in the plane of the chain at a distance from each other. The two parts are clamped together by bolts through at least one elongated bore. The two parts (1,2) have two steps in the plane for the chain (3) and each part has two round grooves to suit the limbs (4a,4b) of a chain link (4). The mating faces (12a,12b) include an angle of at least 45 deg. with the plane at right angles to the centre line (20). Two bolts (5) fit into an elongated bore (15) in at least one of the parts to enable clearance adjustment.
