Combined energy installation for farming - has parabola shaped tarpaulin sheets hanging from masts carrying solar collectors and wind generators

The energy installation consists of a number of symmetrically spaced lattice masts (1) on each of which a tarpaulin shaped sheet (2) to reflect the suns rays, is supported by tension ropes (3). Stabilising weights (4) are arranged in the interior of the installation, and at the upper end of each mast, at the focal point of the reflector, is an energy collector (5) above which, a wind generator can be mounted if required. The reflector tarpaulins (2) are adjusted during construction to form a mathematically correct parabola, by setting the correction weights (4), which also act as stabilisers. The entire reflector surface can be used for solar collection, and in spite of the variable angle of incidence of the suns rays, is able to exploit the available solar energy. This energy is transferred from the solar collector by a conventional water or sodium heat exchanger, the installation being partic. effective in areas subject to long periods of solar activity e.g. in the equatorial regions.
