A multi-speed cine projector has a stepping motor for low speeds and a conventional motor for normal speeds. The normal motor drives a sleeve via a drive belt, with the shutter and the claw mechanism driven off the sleeve. A central shaft is coupled to the sleeve by a clutch and links to either the stepping motor or the normal motor. The central shaft has a worm gear at one end to drive the film reels while the clutch is servo-operated at the other end. The two drives are combined by a compact layout with the clutch action as the only control component.
