The hose clip comprises a strip of material with overlapping ends joined by a clamping device, and corrugated to form a tension spring. Along the lengthwise edges of the strip (5) are expanded portions (7) running in the axial direction, an aperture (8) being formed in the strip inside each of them. The strip has a gap running between each pair of opposite apertures. The expanded portions can be formed by pulling H-shaped cuts in the strip apart in the sideways direction, after one of the sides (9,10) of the gap has been bent in the radial direction.
