Field chopper with metal detector - has proximity detector in first plastic roller extending towards second one

The field chopper has a metal detector whose high-frequency oscillation circuit is distorted by the approach of metallic items and generates a signal affecting operation of the chopper. The detector comprises a proximity detector (25), mounted in a first plastic roller (20) after the crop intake mechanism and a transverse transporter following it, and before the chopper intake rollers (19,22,23). The proximity detector extends towards a second plastic roller (21) opposite the first and working with it. There can be several proximity detectors at intervals across the conveyor.
