Sound-insulated motor vehicle engine with double cooling circuits - using respective fans within and outside sound-insulating enclosure

The engine is enclosed by an air-tight, sound-insulating enclosure (6). The coolant circulation circuit lies outside the latter and has a radiator with an associated fan, a second fan being positioned within the sound-insulating enclosure and providing an air current through a heat exchanger. This is coupled to a second radiator on the outside of the sound-insulating enclosure and pref. located within the vicinity of the first fan. Pref. the pressure side of the second fan is coupled to an air line which leads to the back of the sound-insulating enclosure and directs an air stream into the rear section of the drive transmission.
