The self-propelled beet-harvesting machine comprises a tractor (1) accommodating mounted machinery. A beet lifter (4), forming a transverse swath, is mounted on the three-point linkage (2,3) at the rear of the tractor, while a beet-hopper (5) straddles the latter and is connected to a beet elevator (6) following the lifter. A precision beet-topping mechanism (11) is also secured to the tractor. The topping mechanism can be connected by a conveyor (13) to a leaf collector (14). The topping mechanism with the conveyor may be mounted laterally, while the leaf collector may be secured to the tractor rear end.
