The method is for indication and/or regulation of fluid or gas pressure, and uses a mechanism comprising a piston (7) which can advance in a housing body (1) and which has two areas (7,7') working towards each other. These piston areas are subject to the pressure from the medium being handled, and are different in size. A mechanical load force acts on the smaller of the piston surfaces, and both surfaces then perform a common advance movement when the medium pressure exceeds a preset limit value. They can act on a flow-regulating valve and/or give an indication of the medium pressure.
