Continuous prodn. esp. of wafers or waffles - using pairs of moulds to produce hollow product halves for joining together

The Parent Patent describes a method of producing bakery goods, esp. wafers and gingerbread, using two half-moulds pressed together with the dough between them; a striplike or plate- like inlay having the contours of the finished goods punched out in it is introduced between the half-moulds to define the form of the dough and act as conveyor for the prods. In the patent of addition at least one pair of these insert plates are mutually associated with each other and the goods (A,B) transported in the punched-out openings are connected to one another. Pref., the inlays are pressed together in such a way that the goods conducted by them rest in pairs one upon another; these goods are then pressed at least from one side, so that a baked product composed of two half-prods. (A,B) is produced and is then expelled from the inlays. In partic., the baked prods. produced in each inlay may each constitute one half of a hollow wafer or the like or may constitute two hollow prods. fitted one into the other. In the parent patent the space normally occupied by waste dough is filled by the material of the plate or strip. In the patent of addition the prodn. of more complicated prods., in partic. filled hollow baked prods., is achieved in a simple manner. In partic. foam-filled waffles can be produced.
