The system removes a damaged portable pressure vessel containing dangerous, e.g. poisonous material and which is leaking. The vessel (4) is enclosed in a larger transport vessel (1) sufficiently resistant to pressure and which is sealed gastight and transported away. At a safe point, the gas under pressure in the transport vessel can be discharged via a valve, after which the dangerous material is removed via separate valves using a flushing agent, before opening to remove the damaged pressure vessel. The transport vessel can have wheels or rollers, also pressure reduction and flushing valves and a quick-action pressure resistant cover at one end.
