Electric waffle maker with alternate power ratings - selected by manual switch to obtain required waffle crispness and thyristor for controlling power

The waffle maker has two hinged waffle plates (11,12) coupled to the electrical supply via a thermostatically controlled switch (13). The two plates can be operated selectively at two or more different power ratings. A diode (18) is connected in series with the switch and has a parallel shunt switch (17) operated manually to alter the power fed to the plates. Alternatively, the power fed to the plates can be adjusted continuously by using a thyristor. The waffle maker allows the crispness of the obtained waffles be varied.
