The indicator lamp (7) is controlled by a transistor (8) switched by the pulses (J) from the blink generator (1). When the vehicle is in normal motion the limiting resistor (9) in series with the transistor base is chosen with a value which gives a bright light from the lamp. The resistor can be photosensitive and automatically adjust lamp brilliance to ambient light conditions. At rest or low speeds a relay (11') changes the blinker unit (1) output to a path with greater resistance (10,9') and the lamp gives a lower illumination. The system gives a bright warning to the driver when the turn indicator is on during a journey, and a reminder, at a lower level, if he has forgotten to switch off after stopping the motor-cycle.
