The tennis racquet is equipped with devices to counteract the deformation of the racquet frame caused by striking the ball. The device to counteract the deformation force exerted on the racquet consists of a double frame construction of the racquet made up from an outer racquet frame section and an inner racquet frame section which is strung. The inner frame may be fastened to the outer frame at the end remote from the handle, so that when the ball is struck the inner frame bends in the opposite direction to the outer frame. Flexibly values may be chosen so that there is no net change in angle of the inner frame when hitting the ball.
