Chair with cantilevered seat, designed for easy stacking, is made of a metal tubular frame with plywood back and/or seat. At the front edge (13) of the seat (2) a non-metallic protective stirrup or hollow strip (5) is fitted, closing around the two front corners of the seat and connected laterally to the seat frame. Similarly, a non-metallic closure stirrup or strip (6) may be fitted to the top of the back. The strip at the front of the seat is pref. flush with the upper face and has a rounded front edge. The stirrups (or strip) are pref. made of polyurethane. The front protective stirrup not only projects the forward edge of the seat itself but covers up the cold metal frame, making the chair considerably more comfortable.
