Brake control for railway traffic - has oscillation receivers near mechanical retarders transmitting signal for short duration brake release on prohibited noise direction
The brake control is applicable both to the rails and to the rolling stock. It contains retarding mechanisms which, in effective position, reduce the vehicle speed by mechanical braking, at least partly. Near the retarding mechanisms (B) are mounted oscillation receivers (SA) which transmit a signal for short duration reduction of the braking force of the retarding mechanisms, on appearance of unpermissible braking noise in the effective region of the retarders. Acoustic receivers are pref. used for the signal transmission and they may be in acoustic connection with the retarding mechanism. If the receivers are in the form of acoustic transducers, they may be fitted separately from the retarders, but may have a receiver characteristic with directioning towards the retarders. To the receivers may be allocated filters (F), tuned to the frequencies of the unacceptable brake noises.
