Safety catch for trapeze on wind-surfer - has handgrip safety release for slip catch on boom

The trapeze support on a windsurfer has a safety catch loop (1) attached with one end to the boom (6) while the other end has a sprung catch (2) linked to the boom. The trapeze is looped over the loop with the safety catch held by the user. On releasing the safety catch and applying a set pull on the trapeze, the catch opens and allows the trapeze to slip off. The end of the safety loop has a thickened knot which locates in a slot in the safety catch lever. When the lever is pulled away from the boom the slot allows the knot to slip out. The trapeze loop is rapidly secured when the user turns to the other side of the boom after tacking.
